Business Industry: Manufacturing

A global customer requires complex internal applications migration from Visual Basic6 to C-Sharp with web based components running on a web farm of Windows 2003 servers and access various databases including SQL Server, Oracle and Sybase. The web based components are written in either Visual Basic.NET or C-Sharp and include a few components that are Windows forms applications running on Windows XP Professional and that access Oracle and Sybase databases. The Windows forms applications are written in C-Sharp and include Shift Relief, Work Assignments Planner, Toolkit Dashboard, Filter Planning, Alpha to Chips Planning, Brewplan, and Blending Tool. Ferguson provided the specialized staffing to provide this multi-year transition smoothly from the writing of test plans, execution, quality assurance, implementation and support.

Business Industry: Telecommunications

This order entry integration project will remove “swivel-chair” activity between disparate systems that cross several roles with this customer product and service organization. Eliminating this manual activity will lead to operating effectiveness by decreasing manual and duplicate entry in multiple systems as well as providing the capability for increase selling and provide a higher level of support to the external customer. By combining the specific talents needed with the technologies required for a successful project we built a team including SQL Server 2005, Visual Basic.NET 2005, .Net 3.5 framework, JavaScript, Ajax, Web Services and Extensible Markup Language (XML) experts to accomplish our customer’s goals.

Business Industry: Agriculture

A collaboration manager project involves collaboration between our global customer and their 3rd party client. This project requires development of a physical view for the client that can be accessed upon demand to see current state and success of the collaborative information. There are iterations for this project scheduled every 2 weeks with 5 iterations and 1 major release per quarter as milestones toward success. Ferguson provided senior-level Java development personnel to utilize tools such as Spring, Hibernate, Test-First Development, Swing, Maven, IntelliJ and Web Services on a Oracle Database to provide the solution the customer and their 3rd party client required.

Business Industry: Manufacturing / Wholesale

The Creation of a Common Business Process Architecture, Standardization of Internal and External Master Data and Standardization of Information Systems Infrastructure is complex. When you add that the data currently resides in many Cobol/Mainframe heritage and legacy systems around the globe it becomes even more so. This project involves multiple go-live milestones beginning in September 2008 and continuing through 2009 and 2010 and will affect over 16 manufacturing plants for global system integration. Using SAP through all phases, Ferguson was the partner our customer needed to succeed.
